Justice Advice Project

Share with others

The Justice Advice Project was set up in 2020 to support people who are facing court proceedings without the aid of legal representation. The aim of the project is to empower people to represent themselves to the best of their ability. The project can support people if they either live in Dorset, or have a County Court case in Dorset.

The specially trained volunteers can help with Civil and Family court cases including access to children, divorce, money claims, non-molestation and occupation orders, and eviction/possession.

The Justice Advice team can support by:

-Explaining court processes and procedures

-Assisting people to complete court application forms and statements

-Providing orientation around the court building

-Providing emotional support and informal note taking in court hearings (subject to availability)

Please note that we cannot offer any legal advice, opinion, or representation to clients.

Please be aware that the Justice Advice project will be ending on the 31st March 2025. As result of this, we are unable to accept any further referrals. We would like to thank you for all your support during the duration of the project.

We may still be able to assist you. You can contact us Citizens Advice BCP adviceline on 0808 2787939, or alternatively please click here for more information on how to visit us, or contact us via email.
